Marathon Winner!

The marathons, triathlons and several other events are free for anyone who wants to watch.  Lots of British fans weren't able to obtain tickets so these events provided an opportunity for them to see Olympic competition.  I met my friend Leslie, her husband Mark, son George (2) plus six of their Columbus friends at the Tower of London to watch the women's marathon.  Prior to the start the skies turned grey and then the downpour started and continued for two hours!  Felt badly for the runners... The course brought them right by our spot three times.  The winner was Tiki Gelana of Ethiopia.  You can read her jersey in the picture.  What an accomplishment! The 24 year old finished in 2:32.14.
